INCA TRAIL TO MACHUPICCHU 4 DAYS 3 NIGHTS

Program: Vivencial,cultural.
Departures: Daily
Season: March - November.
Group Size: Min 2 per / Max 8 per

For many centuries, people of the rural areas of Peru have maintained the teachings and practices of their ancestors. Some of the communities most steeped in tradition are those smaller Andean villages that are located in the mountain ranges of Ausangate. We offer an unforgettable trip that will offer a glimpse into the depth of the Peruvian soul and a chance to see these people in their natural environments, living in the manner that people of this area have lived for centuries.

Itinerary:

Day 1: Cusco – Ocongate - Tinqui

We will leave Cusco in a private bus to the town of Urcos, driving along the Cusco - Puerto Maldonado route. On our way to our first days destination, Tinqui (3800 mtrs), we will pass by the small, native village, Ocongate, where we will have our dinner and sleep that night.

Day 02: Tinqui – Upis

This is the first day that we will actually begin trekking, passing by the communities of Quinsapucyu and Huarmisaya as we forge ahead, until we arrive to Upis, which offers some fantastic views of the mighty Mount Ausangate.

Day 3: Upis - Pukacocha

We will continue on Day 3 to the first pass of the journey, Arapa, which stands at approximately 4958 meters above sea level. After a trying day, we will eventually camp near the blue lagoon of Pukacocha.

Day 4: Pukacocha - Jampa

will begin with a visit to a group of small, brilliantly coloured lakes, which will serve as a starting point for our journey to the highest pass of the entire trek, the Palomani Pass, which towers at about 5,100 meters above sea level. At dusk we will arrive to Jampa, where we will set up camp for the night.

Day 05: Jampa – Komerqocha – Pachaspata

Trekking along the crest of the Jampa Valley, we will continue northwest until we arrive to the amazing Ticllacocha Lagoon. We will eventually conquer the last pass of the trek, which is at a height of 4,650 m. (15,250 feet). Passing it, we will arrive to the “pampas” of Pachaspata, where we will camp on the banks of the pristine, Lake Qomercocha.

Day 06: Pachaspata – Pachanta

In the morning, we will enjoy a pleasant descent into the valley until arrive to Pachanta. In Pachanta, we will rest a little while as we take a dip in the soothing thermal waters.

Day 7: Pachanta – Tinqui – Cusco

After a brief morning walk, we will arrive to the highway, where a vehicle will be waiting for us to drive us back to Cusco, where we will arrive at dusk.
